Procedure

1. Squared off 100 meters of forest area and marked 4 trees (at least 4 inches wide)
2. Measured the paces it took to reach 66 ft from the base of the tree
3. Used a clinometer to record the slope of the bottom of the tree (base) to the top (first crotch)
4. Measured the circumference of the tree (inches) with a tape measurer
5. Identified the type of tree and value per board feet
6. Filled out form and completed calculations to determine value of timber within 100 sq. meter area
7. Used ArcGIS software online to determine the entire area of Huntington High's forest
8. Combined data with other classes to produce an estimate for the value of Huntington High's forest
