Ozone Blog

The Ozone is important to life on Earth and the planet alike. Therefore, it deserves to be studied and researched in order to better understand how it works. The Ozone layer consists of O3 molecules and when struck by solar energy, the Ozone absorbs ultra violet radiation that is harmful to living things. VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) are chemicals that easily evaporate into the atmosphere which are sometimes toxic and harmful to humans and the environment. NOx gases are also harmful when they are at surface level.  NOx gases are Nitrogen oxides that are created when chemical reactions occur or energy is generated. Cars and factories produce enormous amounts of NOx. O2, which is a form of Oxygen found at surface level, is converted to O3 through our daily activities. Pollutants in the air are becoming more abundant and a surface level Ozone has begun to develop.
